The sad reality in our world is that millions of people have their own cancer story. This is just one of those stories. But what makes Keely’s story so powerful is her recording the highs and lows in real time starting from the words no one ever wants to hear: “It’s cancer”.
Outside the soccer community in Springfield, Illinois, Keely Burton is not widely known. However, when her husband Steve started a Facebook group to document Keely’s battle with breast cancer, they began sharing their experiences publicly. Keely realized that serious diseases like cancer grow in power when kept private. Since then, Keely and Steve have shared updates about her condition. The Facebook group has provided support for Keely and others dealing with similar health challenges.
This book is a collection of Keely and Steve’s media posts in real-time journal form. Readers will appreciate Keely’s stark honesty as she chronicles her journey from diagnosis to treatment to healing to maintenance and finally to being an advocate for the importance of hope while fighting a serious disease. Their prayer is that others will find hope reading Keely’s story.
Note: The Enhanced Version features color photos. This will be an unsigned version; Keely would love to meet and sign your book at an upcoming signing event.
